For those of you who don't know, Kensho and Satori are not only the names of two amazing Crown Skis models, but also Japanese Buddhism terms which describe sudden flashes of enlightment and self-awareness. The Japanese Zen Buddhists probably didn't think of it this way, but for us there is no better way to reach nirvana than through long, pure, light, powerful turns through deep powder. Although quick playful turns through the trees with snow flying overhead might do the trick too... You see the connection now?
Anyway, this brings us to our newest graphic design, available in very limited quantities for the remainder of the 2011 season, and as a semi-custom graphic option for the 2011/12 winter. We teamed up with North Vancouver artist Alex Harvey-Wickens and he came up with the idea of a Japanese snow monkey, meditating while listening to sweet tunes under a gorgeous full moon. Sounds kinda crazy, but we think it looks amazing. In fact we couldn't be happier with Alex's work. Check it out:
